Where do you live?

Reserved parking

As I was sitting outside of the Music Academy yesterday, waiting for my son’s piano lesson to end, my attention was drawn to the Reserved Parking sign above. I thought about a prophecy that the Father had given to my husband and me more than a few years ago. What God said that He would do in our lives took a lot of faith. I remember driving in our downtown area one day; and I said to God: How can I believe you for that, when I can’t even believe for a parking space? It was at that moment that I knew that that would be my starting point for building and exercising my faith in His abilities. I had started to believe God for close parking spaces wherever I went. I wasn’t being lazy. I just had a bunch of small kids; so closer was better in my line of thinking. Every where I would go, I began to get close parking spaces. It didn’t matter if the place was packed. There was nearly ALWAYS a close parking space for me. It happened so regularly that other moms who went to the same programs that I took my children to, expected me to always be parked close.

As I focused on this sign, I began to see that because I am a citizen (or tenant) of the Kingdom of Heaven, there is  ALWAYS a reserved parking space for me wherever I go. Earlier this week, I was thinking about how there have been a number of  powerful and ruling  kingdoms in the earth that have come and gone; but the Kingdom of Heaven, introduced to us by Yeshua, is the most powerful kingdom and it will forever stand (Daniel 2:44). Although our physical bodies live on the earth, our spirit man is seated in heavenly places with Yeshua Messiah (Ephesians 2:6). As people of God, it is of great benefit to live from and by our spirit; rather than by our physical senses. Remember that we are spirits with souls, that live in a body; which means we should be living from the inside out; and not the outside in.

God’s Dependable Word

Yesterday, I had loaded the kids into the car to take them to swim lessons. Well, my car didn’t move. The wheels spun around and around. I sat there and prayed. I then got out  and looked under the tires; only to discover that there was a sheet of ice under them. I  put sand under the tires; then got back in, to try and pull off. Nothing! The wheels continued to spin. After about 20 minutes of trying to figure out how to get this car to move, I asked the Holy Spirit. What do I do? I heard:” Speak to it.” I got out of the car. I pointed to my car and said: “In the name of Yeshua, I command you to back out gently.” I sat back in the car and waited a few minutes.  I then put the car in reverse and pressed the gas. Nothing happened. I just started praising God; because I knew I heard His voice; and that the enemy was trying to bring doubt. I gently pressed on the gas; and the car went in reverse; and I was able to get the kids to swim lessons.

The previous night, I had been meditating on Mark 11:23 (NIV) – “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” An opportunity presented itself for me to apply the very thing that I’d been meditating on the night before. At that moment, that situation was a mountain to me. My husband wasn’t home; and neither was my very helpful neighbor. I just praise God for His wisdom and the trustworthiness of His word!
