This week’s verse and affirmation of the week is 1 Corinthians 13:8 – I believe love never fails. The exercise of the week is an isometric squat with calf raises. This exercises strengthens the back of the legs, glutes and thighs. Enjoy your weekend!
Hello All! ‘m a little late posting this week’s declaration; but it’s down below. Before you get to it, I wanted to share a testimony from today. My 6 year old son ran into the house this afternoon all excited exclaiming: “Mommy! Mommy! A group of people came and bought lemonade and brownies from us!! I was like woooowww!!! This was exciting to us; because my son had prayed for lots of customers at one time; and was declaring it. Well, I walked out on the front porch and I saw about ten or so people walking away from the lemonade stand. Their first customers today was a small family of a husband, wife and little kid. This kind couple purchased two cups of lemonade and two brownies; as well as tipped them $5. I have noticed that nearly everyday, someone always give them a $5 tip. I hope this little testimony encourages you to embrace and meditate on Mark 9:23.
This week’s declaration is based on Philippians 2:5 (KJV) –Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. The exercise of the week is bird dog. It strengthens your lower back, glutes and core.
Great Morning Everyone!! This is the day that the Lord has made, and I WILL rejoice and be glad in it! This week’s exercise is the bridge using a small ball. This exercise strengthens your glutes, lower back and core. The verse and confession of the week is Isaiah 54:17- No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. When you get this verse down deep in your heart, you will realize just how invincible and unstoppable you are. God’s word is the ABSOLUTE truth…..regardless of our circumstances. You may be dealing with a sickness. That’s a fact; however the truth is that by His stripes, you are healed (1 Peter 2:24). You may be dealing with lack…another fact. The TRUTH is that God will supply ALL of your needs according to HIS riches and glory. Meditate the word (Philippians 4:19). It’s the way that Joshua was instructed, in order to obtain success (Joshua 1:8). In Genesis, we can see that God spoke the opposite of what initially appeared. He saw darkness, but spoke light. We were made in His image and likeness; and are therefore to imitate Him. If you’re dealing with any darkness in your life, speak light (the word of God). Have an excellent day!!
If you feel like you need a massage; but can’t find the time to get to the LMT, then foam rolling is the way to go. It helps to get rid of muscle tightness and soreness. Give it a try! You can get them as low as $5; and they come in different sizes.
This week’s fitness video features a short upper body tabata workout. Tabata is 4ish minutes of high intensity interval training (HIIT); where you work HARD for 20 seconds, and then recover for 10 seconds. You then repeat this combination for 8 rounds. In the video, you’ll see that the verse of the week is Proverbs 31:10. Also keep in mind, Proverbs 31:17 (NIV):”…..her arms are strong for her tasks.” It’ll help keep your mind on track as you work your arms, shoulders and upper back.
Happy Belated New Year to All who read this post! I sincerely wish you a disciplined year, so that you will accomplish all of your goals. Tonight’s post is about physical wellness; which is defined as recognizing the need for physical activity, healthy food and sleep (SAHMSA). According to a report by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) only 23% of Americans get the recommended amount of exercise. I won’t even bother with the statistics on nutrition, because it’s complete disaster. According to the National Sleep Foundation, Americans sleep an average of 7 hours and 36 minutes; which is within the sleep recommendation range, however, 35 % reported poor or fair sleep quality. In a nutshell, Americans have poor quality exercise, nutrition and sleep habits. It’s no wonder that over half of all Americans take prescription drugs; and they average taking four. That’s a lot of drugs and alot of money. Early last year, the average price for generic prescription drugs was $80 for a month’s supply. (1) $320 is quite a bit to pay for drugs that are only treating symptoms. I just don’t know how this is a viable solution to anyone. In my mind’s eye, if you have a problem, RESOLVE it! Don’t put patches on it or allow it to linger.
So what does the bible say about physical health and wellness? Concerning exercise, 1 Timothy 4:8 says that physical training is of some value. There are quite a few verses regarding nutrition. Genesis 1:29 talks about fruit and vegetables. Genesis 9:3 states that everything that moves, would be food for them. Nehemiah 8:10 talks about eating fat. Of course there’s the vegetables and water diet in Daniel 1:12. Here’s the thing to consider…..their diets were related to where they were and where they were going. When Adam and Eve were in the garden (a stress-free place), fruits and vegetables was the diet. When Noah and his sons came out of the ark to a post-flood earth, every living thing was the diet. When the children of Israel were in the desert, they ate manna, but when they entered the Canaan, the manna stopped and they ate corn and fruit from the land (Joshua 5:12). So, you have to know where you are on your journey; and how to eat optimally for it. As for sleep, there is one verse that I think is God’s intention for His people. It is Psalm 127:2 (CEB): It is pointless that you get up early and stay up late, eating the bread of hard labor because God gives sleep to those he loves.
When Jesus prayed in Matthew 6:10 – your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. When I think of heaven, I’m hard-pressed to believe that sickness or disease is there. Our bodies are God’s temple; and we are to honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 16:19-20). How do you do this? Is your temple reflective of heaven….fit for the King of kings to live in; or does it need some work?
