PUSH!

The poem below is based on Proverbs 13:12 & 1 Corinthians 15:57

Proverbs 13:12 (MSG) – Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.

Proverbs 13:12 (TPT) – When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dream comes true, life’s sweetness will satisfy your soul.

1 Corinthians 15:57 (AMP) but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The title of this poem is PUSH, because that’s what women do, who are about to deliver a baby. The day before my first child was born, my very good friend Angel called me and said: “I feel like I need to tell you this: When you get to the point where you feel like you can’t go on, the baby is about to come.” The very next day, my water broke; and I went to the hospital to have my baby. I got to that point when I felt like I couldn’t go on and like the baby would never come. At that point, Angel’s words flooded my mind; and with one big push, my baby came completely out!

My midwife and nurse were shocked because it was my first pregnancy and they told me that it usually takes a while for the baby to come. This taught me a valuable lesson: you MUST ALWAYS listen to the voice within…no matter what the experts or anyone else says. I also learned that all that I needed to birth my baby was already on the inside of me. I didn’t need to ask anyone anything. I simply listened for the voice of God.

Angel’s words have stuck with me through each of my four deliveries and throughout other challenges in life. If you are in a pushing season, rejoice! Your victory is near!

PUSH

Dreams dashed over and over again,

Makes you feel like you’ll never ever win…

hopelessness and depression,

Seeks to drag you down,

But something inside

Says you won’t drown.

You renew your mind,

With God’s encouraging word,

No matter how outlandish or absurd…

Your dream may be;

That’s in your heart,

You saw the end, from the very start.

You pray, you push, and push on through,

Because you know that God promised

the victory to you.

Breakthrough has come!

Your victory is here,

Because you held to the promise,

When it didn’t seem near.

Praise God today and forever more,

For the victory that has

always been yours!

Partnering with God

In 2016, I went to the polls to vote. I had no intentions of voting for Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump. I was going to write in the name of a person who I thought would make a great president. As far as I was concerned, neither were deserving of my vote. To my surprise, I heard a voice (almost audibly) say “Trump.” I was like, ohhh nooooo…..I MUST be hearing things. My mind then went back to a story in a book that my husband and I read years earlier, about how Trump had paid off a man’s mortgage; because the man had stopped to fix a flat on his limo…..or something to that effect. I knew the all too familiar voice; so I voted for Trump. No one more shocked than me. I was almost too embarrassed to tell anyone …even my husband. Come to find out, my husband was also lead to vote for Trump. It was at this point that I knew beyond all shadows of doubt that this was a God thing. We waited up to see the result of the election; and we’re cautiously happy about the result.

For the next few weeks or so, I poured myself into doing my own research on then President-elect Trump. I went through books, watched documentaries and videos, looked up prophecies concerning our nation and this particular man. I realized that the picture painted by the media and what I had found; were almost completely opposite. 1 Samuel 16:7 says man looks at the outward appearance; but God looks at the heart. Trump ran for president because he did not like the direction in which the country was moving. He got together with some pastors to pray about running for office in 2008; but he learned that it was not the right time. Then after He sought the Lord again, and it was revealed to him to run for office in the 2016 election.

I support President Trump’s because I believe that He is appointed by God. Romans 13:1 says: Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.  Though he might not say or tweet things that are politically correct; or that I’m necessarily in agreement with, it doesn’t make him a Godless or immoral man. His background might not be as stellar as some may think it should be; but SO WHAT??? I’ve yet to meet a person without sin, transgression or iniquity.  If people were perfect, there would be no need for Jesus/Yeshua. Moses was a murderer; but that did not impede His call to lead the Children of Israel out of captivity. If I’m being totally transparent, I need not look outside of my own life. There are things in my past and areas in my life that are less than perfect; but it does not stop me from doing and being who God has called me to be.

Second, 1 Timothy 2: 1-2 says: First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. Also Proverbs 21:1 (ESV) states: The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord, He turns it wherever He will.  As true believers, our resolve should be to obey the word of God above our fickle feelings and emotions. God omniscient. When we don’t trust and obey God, we are idolizing our own thoughts and feelings.

Third, in an interview that I watched of him, the interviewer asked him what he wanted his legacy as president to be; to which he responded: “I want to be known as the president who prayed the most.” Colossians 4:2 (NIV) states: Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Fourth, He restricted access to abortion. I know that this is a HIGHLY emotional and therefore, controversial topic. I’m not here to condemn any one. God’s grace is sufficient for all of us; no matter what we’ve done.  I’m simply stating facts and spiritual truths. Proverbs 6:16 – 19 (AMP) says: These six things the Lord hates; Indeed, seven are repulsive to Him: 17  A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that creates wicked plans, Feet that run swiftly to evil, 19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers. I have learned that when God tells us not to do something, it’s for our own good. He doesn’t want us to suffer unnecessarily; nor does He want the flow of our blessings to be obstructed. I think it most interesting that the above mentioned verse lists the THINGS that God’s hate; instead of the people who have done these things. Many years ago when I attended my Montessori Teacher training, I was taught to separate the child from the behavior. In other words, the child IS NOT the behavior. This is how God is with us. Anyway, let’s continue on.

Fifth, He recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and made plans to have the U.S. embassy moved there. Psalm 122:6 (NKJV) says: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you. Psalm 48:2 (ERV): His city is such a pleasant place. It brings joy to people from around the world. Mount Zion is the true mountain of God. It is the city of the great King. By doing this, he put our nation in a position to prosper.

Finally, witches have gathered on a number of occasions to curse and put hexes on President Trump. Satan doesn’t come against his own kingdom. He comes against the kingdom of God. Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (MSG) says: When you enter the land that God, your God is giving you, don’t take on the abominable ways of life of the nations there. Don’t you dare sacrifice your son or daughter in the fire. Don’t practice divination, sorcery, fortunetelling, witchery, casting spells, holding séances, or channeling with the dead. People who do these things are an abomination to God. It’s because of just such abominable practices that God, your God, is driving these nations out before you.

Matthew 12:25-28 (ERV) says: Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking. So he said to them, “Every kingdom that fights against itself will be destroyed. And every city or family that is divided against itself will not survive. 26 So if Satan forces out his own demons, then he is fighting against himself, and his kingdom will not survive. 27 You say that I use the power of Satan to force out demons. If that is true, then what power do your people use when they force out demons? So your own people will prove that you are wrong. 28 But I use the power of God’s Spirit to force out demons, and this shows that God’s kingdom has come to you.

In conclusion, I pray that if you’re a believer, you will recognize what and who is of God; as well as partner with Him and His agenda for our nation; rather than opinions, emotions and the high thoughts of today. Remember, that God loves us. He loves people. He loves our nation. He loves to bless us; but we can halt His blessings in our lives if we are not in alignment with His will. Amos 3:7 (NIV) says: Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. Just as God has prophets that He speaks to and through, satan also has his prophets and people who he speaks through (remember Elijah and the prophets of baal). The next time you’re listening to the news or a partisan debate, ask yourself: “Is this the voice of God?” or “Does this align with the voice of God?” If your answer is no, you’ll have to make a decision on whether or not to eliminate that voice in your life. As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you around the blogosphere!

Biblical Laws for a Successful 2020

As you reflect on this past year, or previous years even….are you satisfied with your life? Will 2020 be better than previous years; or the same old thing? What will make 2020 better than previous years? Are you living your purpose; if not, why? These are all questions I’ve asked myself and I encourage you to do the same. I’ve learned over the years that many of our life circumstances are a result of our innermost thoughts, the words that we speak; as well as our daily actions or in-actions. In other words, our habits. When I was twelve years old, I told my mom that she wouldn’t have to pay for my college education; because I was going to get either an academic or athletic scholarship. Five years later, that is exactly what happened.

15822458_10154937931834433_1956243981_n

Why did this happen? Was it luck? Definitely not! It was biblical laws.

Job  22:28 states: “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways.

Proverbs 4:23 (GNT) says: Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.

Luke 6:43 – 45 (MSG) states: “You don’t get wormy apples off a healthy tree, nor good apples off a diseased tree. The health of the apple tells the health of the tree. You must begin with your own life-giving lives. It’s who you are, not what you say and do, that counts. Your true being brims over into true words and deeds.

In my above mentioned story, I  utilized all of these laws. My innermost thoughts were that, I was a great student-athlete; which caused me to speak it out of my mouth. My actions also aligned with who I was and what I spoke. I practiced basketball every day; even after basketball practice with my team, on weekends; as well as when season was out. As a student, I did very my well in my classes. This process would not have worked out in my favor, had I thought and said one thing; but did another.

This process has happened time and time again throughout my life. Another example is when I was pregnant with my second child. I wanted a home-birth; but my husband wasn’t in agreement with the idea.  I didn’t try to persuade him. I felt in my heart that God would grant me the desire in my heart. All of my check ups were at the Midwife’s office; except for the last one. It was two weeks before my due date; and I was going to have my first appointment with my midwife at the hospital; to see the birth room. Low and behold, about 2 hours before my appointment, my baby boy came right on out at my sister’s house.  God is good and His principle’s work all the time!

As you prepare to cross over into 2020, it is my prayer that your vision for your life will be made perfect! May your minds be transformed by renewal through the Word; and your speech and habits line up with the vision that is within you. As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you around the blogosphere! Happy New Year!!

Family Vacation!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Soooo, I’ve been absent for two weeks. My family and I took our annual Caribbean cruise. This time we cruised on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas; which is the largest ship in the world.

IMG_3281

We all enjoyed it! We saw shows, ate at the best restaurants aboard the ship, listened to live music, danced, toured the islands and so much more.

IMG_3344  IMG_3339IMG_3114 IMG_3120

My children only attended Adventure Ocean (the kids’ program) for one hour on the third day. They enjoyed it; but they obviously preferred hanging out with their cool and fun parents.

The ship docked in St. Marteen, Puerto Rico and Cococay (Royal Caribbean’s Island) in the Bahamas. I always enjoy touring the islands, because I love learning about the history of each place. My other favorite thing to do is going to the fitness center. I peeped in on a few of the classes; but they didn’t look very interesting, so I opted to do my own workouts. I met a nice lady, who became my fitness partner while on the ship. We discovered that we were both from Miami, enjoy fitness and locked our hair; because we don’t like coming it. How cool is that?!!! We also discovered that she knew my uncle. This woman was more than just my workout partner, she was a Godsend. I usually travel with ginger, because it soothes the stomach. This time, I failed to bring some. I needed it because my stomach wasn’t feeling so hot after eating too many different types of foods. My son also needed it, because his stomach wasn’t feeling so well one night. After only our second day meeting to workout, my workout partner gifted me with a bottle of ginger and an array of health foods and supplements (without even knowing about my upset stomach that one night and that I’d left my ginger at home).  Only God knew; and He provided! I am thoroughly convinced that God does and will ALWAYS take care of me, no matter what! The highlight of my trip were the rainbows that I saw on two different islands. They always represent a wink from God  for me; and how faithful He is to His word.

IMG_3226 IMG_3173

As I stated earlier, my family and I enjoyed our cruise.

IMG_3149 IMG_3210 IMG_3309

The only thing that we didn’t love, was the departing procedure. If you have a stroller or more than one bag, you have to take the elevator. Most people had more than one bag; and there was a long line of people waiting to take the elevator. I could have only imagined that it would’ve taken hours to get the 7000 people off of the ship, doing it that way. It’s a good thing that we have God’s favor and are early birds! One of the employees help carry our bags down the escalator; so we were able to avoid the long wait for the elevator. Thank God!

We were grateful to have missed the snowstorm that hit our area while we were away; but really began thinking strongly about becoming snowbirds this season. It’s pretty miraculous how we change. When my husband and I first met, he said that he would never go on a cruise; while I said that I would never move back to FL. Fast forward to now, he loves going on cruises and I am actively searching for a winter residence in FL.  God really knows how to bring people into agreement. When we returned form the trip, my children kept saying that they want to go to FL for the whole winter; while my husband said to me that warm weather is only three hours away. My business coach would say that winter is a choice. This year I’m in agreement with all of them. I love mountains and lakes…..cross-country skiing and snowboarding; but I’m very partial to the ocean and warm weather.

My children want to go to Disney and NYC; while I want to go to Spain. We will be visiting these places in the not-so-distant future. Where are some places that you have gone; and would recommend to others? As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you around the blog!

Affirmation & Exercise of the Week

Greetings Everyone!!

I have been MIA for the past two weeks. Dental and Doctor appointments threw off my entire schedule. I’m glad that’s done with! Here I am, back at it again! In this week’s vid, you’ll find an affirmation based on Psalm 89:34. God is faithful to His covenant and He NEVER breaks His promises. How comforting and reassuring! This week’s exercise is Static Back. It helps to realign the spine and relieve back pain. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Have an EXCELLENT rest of your week! Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate and I’ll see you on the blog next week!

By the Grace of God (YHWH)

IMG_2938

I often get asked how do I do it (homeschooling) with four kids. It is only by THE grace of YHWH/God. I actually really enjoy it…frustrations and all. Prior to this past week, I was frustrated with my second son because it was taking him longer to read his books. It wasn’t because he was struggling or couldn’t do it; rather, it was because he did NOT want to read those books. I told my husband of my frustration. He responded: “He’s just not interested in those books. Let him read what he wants to read.” I said, he only likes to checkout cookbooks from the library. He encouraged me to just let him read them.  He said that kids are eager learners and demonstrators. They only resist when they are uninterested. So, that Sunday evening as I planned the lessons for the week, I had the idea to make index cards with facts about him and the things that he enjoyed. Last Monday when I handed him his work folder and told him that he would be reading the cards instead of the books, he was so delighted! He read and read those cars all week long….forward and backwards; and created new sentences with them, as well as asked for more cards. Wow! What a difference a little God idea makes.

In addition to the reading switch for my six year old, they made their own little creations out of the air drying molding clay; as well as put together a robotic spider. Boy was that a hit! I’m going back to Walmart and buying the other five robotic creatures that they had. Our school is run somewhat like a Montessori School.

IMG_2921

They are free to select whatever they want to work on or play with; and I just rotate between the four of them to teach or explain new concepts or help when there’s a need for it. I work one-on-one with my two year old with her shapes, colors, numbers and abc…..only because she wants to. I’m sure her older siblings serve as an inspiration for this desire. I’m all about letting little kids learn through play and observation. My favorite part of being my kids’ principle educator is the discussions, dialogues and teachable moments that happen all throughout the day. I just love it!

IMG_2936

There are moments when I’ve had about enough of my little people. That’s when it’s time for quiet time. They go into their rooms and have the option of napping or doing a quiet activity for an hour. There have also been moments when I have left my house as soon as my husband stepped foot in the door. There’s no need for an explanation of any kind. My husband just says: “Mommy needs a moment.” So between God’s grace, my husband’s wisdom and my knowing when to take breaks, this homeschooling thing works well for our family. Also, teaching my children how to pray the word of God, biblical principles for marriage, and finances; as well as who God says that they are, is work that I am truly honored to do.

If you are a full-time homeschooling parent, what do you love about teaching your children? If you are a part-time homeschooling parent (your child(ren)) attends private or public school), what do you love about teaching your children?

As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you on the blog!

Affirmation and Exercise of the Week

Hello All!

I hope your November is off to a GREAT start and will continue on in greatness for the remainder of the month! This week’s affirmation is based on Nehemiah 8:10: The joy of the Lord is my strength. I remember when I was in college and been told that I would have to red-shirt the year, due to an injury. I cried like a baby. My sister (who went to a college within 20 minutes of mine) came to visit me the same day. After being in her presence for only a few minutes and laughing so hard that I couldn’t feel my cheeks; the sadness and depression that I felt previously had dissipated. Another time when I worked as a Fitness Director, I was big MAD when I had arrived early at work for this company to come and repair some of the equipment after the set time. They had pushed the time back three times during the same day; and then at the end of the day after I had stayed late and waited for them, they called and said that they weren’t coming until the next day. I called my sister. Again, within minutes, she had me laughing so hard that the anger broke, and I was able to forgive the people.  I think my sister, all comedians and anyone who bring laughter are an absolute gift from our Heavenly Father.

There have been moments of frustrations in some of my days that have come to a complete halt just by something one of my children said or did that resulted in deep belly laughter. Recently, I’ve gotten into the practice of doing 10 belly laughs daily to remind myself that joy is a choice and readily available….as is all blessings of the Most High. This week’s exercise is 10 belly laughs each day. Are you in? I love God, because He only tells us things that are beneficial to us.  There are so many benefits to laughing such as mood improvement, stress relief, feeling good, better breathing, pain relief and so much more. Laughter also strengthens the immune system; which fights off germs, disease and viruses. So God knew precisely that the words spoken by Nehemiah thousands of years ago; would still be true today. His joy dismantles grief (as in the case of the people being addressed by Nehemiah) and all other heavy and negative emotions; as well as strengthens us on every level, spirit, soul and body. Praise God/YHWH!

As always, have an EXCELLENT rest of your week; and I’ll see you in the blogosphere!
