My children have real peace (Isaiah 54:13)

God will save my children. (Isaiah 49:25; Acts 16:31)

My children will seek God’s wisdom for their talents and abilities all the days of their lives. (Proverbs 22:6 amp)

My children are a gift and inheritance from the Lord. (Psalm 127:3)

My children are blessed and prosperous, because they walk in the counsel of the Holy One; and love and meditate on His word. (Psalm 1:1-3)

Everything that my children do is blessed. They are lenders and not borrowers, the head and not the tail; and above only and not beneath.  (Deuteronomy 28:12-13)

My children choose life. (Deuteronomy 30:19)

My children are God’s sheep. They hear His voice and listen to Him. God knows them and they follow Him.  God gives them eternal life and no one will ever snatch them out of His hand. (John 10:27-28)

February Blessings

Woohooo!! 100 followers!! Thank you to you all! I appreciate you! So it’s March already. February seemed to have gone by quickly; though it was filled with as many blessings as January. My favorite one this past month was when I was cleaning up the kitchen after breakfast, and the Father just made His presence known. It flooded my being and the kitchen. The concentration of love was so strong, that all I could do was weep. It is so precious to me, when God does that. Another blessing (that I almost missed out on) was going to South Carolina with my husband. Since the beginning of the year, I was feeling like it was time for me to start spending more 1-on-1 time with my husband away from home. It was very challenging for me, because we take our kids every where with us and we both LOVE being with them. When my eldest son (7 years) came up to me in the kitchen and said: “Mom, just you and Papa should go somewhere together and leave us with grandma. It’ll be good for just you guys to go without us. Besides you need time away from us; and we need time away from you guys…and grandma’s house is fun!” I was like: Ummm, wow…okay.

So, last week, my husband went out of town to look at expanding the business out to South Carolina. At first we were looking at FL because we wanted to spend our winters in a warm climate; however, it seems as though God had different plans. He and a very good friend of ours flew our airplane down. They left last Saturday; and he and our friend were going to fly the plane back on Wednesday. However, my husband ended up leaving the airplane and taking a commercial flight back home; due to unfavorable weather patterns in a couple of states. We decided on Thursday that we would go down over the weekend to take a look at the potential area that we would spend some of our upcoming winters; as well as to fly our airplane back home. I called my mom; and she was delighted to have the kids spend the entire weekend with her and Papa Jim. When I told the kids, they were SUPER-EXCITED, because in their words: “Grandma is the best!”

I was fine for a couple of moments…but then I realized that I would be leaving my children for TWO whole nights. They’ve stayed one night with Grandma; but my husband and I didn’t leave the state. I started to think, maybe I shouldn’t go; but I pushed through. When we arrived at Grandma and Papa Jim’s house on Friday evening, they were just returning from a day of shopping. They bought all the fruits and foods that the kids enjoy; as well as new games and toys. The grandparents and the kids were SO delighted! They barely even said goodbye. The kids were like: “Bye mommy and papa.” While the grandparents were like: “Have fun, we’ll see you when you get back.” We were like: Alrighty then.” We left there and went out to dinner and had a great time! We got up the next morning and caught our 7:27 am flight out. We toured the town in South Carolina; and I REALLY liked it! Three of the best things about it was the 70 degree temperature, sunshine and NO snow or ice!

Flying from SC

My husband and I flew out on Sunday morning and we enjoyed every minute of  it! I was happy to see my babies; and they were happy to see us…but they wanted to stay at Grandma’s and Papa Jim’s.

Family Vacation!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Soooo, I’ve been absent for two weeks. My family and I took our annual Caribbean cruise. This time we cruised on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas; which is the largest ship in the world.

We all enjoyed it! We saw shows, ate at the best restaurants aboard the ship, listened to live music, danced, toured the islands and so much more.

My children only attended Adventure Ocean (the kids’ program) for one hour on the third day. They enjoyed it; but they obviously preferred hanging out with their cool and fun parents.

The ship docked in St. Marteen, Puerto Rico and Cococay (Royal Caribbean’s Island) in the Bahamas. I always enjoy touring the islands, because I love learning about the history of each place. My other favorite thing to do is going to the fitness center. I peeped in on a few of the classes; but they didn’t look very interesting, so I opted to do my own workouts. I met a nice lady, who became my fitness partner while on the ship. We discovered that we were both from Miami, enjoy fitness and locked our hair; because we don’t like coming it. How cool is that?!!! We also discovered that she knew my uncle. This woman was more than just my workout partner, she was a Godsend. I usually travel with ginger, because it soothes the stomach. This time, I failed to bring some. I needed it because my stomach wasn’t feeling so hot after eating too many different types of foods. My son also needed it, because his stomach wasn’t feeling so well one night. After only our second day meeting to workout, my workout partner gifted me with a bottle of ginger and an array of health foods and supplements (without even knowing about my upset stomach that one night and that I’d left my ginger at home).  Only God knew; and He provided! I am thoroughly convinced that God does and will ALWAYS take care of me, no matter what! The highlight of my trip were the rainbows that I saw on two different islands. They always represent a wink from God  for me; and how faithful He is to His word.

As I stated earlier, my family and I enjoyed our cruise.

IMG_3149 IMG_3210 IMG_3309

The only thing that we didn’t love, was the departing procedure. If you have a stroller or more than one bag, you have to take the elevator. Most people had more than one bag; and there was a long line of people waiting to take the elevator. I could have only imagined that it would’ve taken hours to get the 7000 people off of the ship, doing it that way. It’s a good thing that we have God’s favor and are early birds! One of the employees help carry our bags down the escalator; so we were able to avoid the long wait for the elevator. Thank God!

We were grateful to have missed the snowstorm that hit our area while we were away; but really began thinking strongly about becoming snowbirds this season. It’s pretty miraculous how we change. When my husband and I first met, he said that he would never go on a cruise; while I said that I would never move back to FL. Fast forward to now, he loves going on cruises and I am actively searching for a winter residence in FL.  God really knows how to bring people into agreement. When we returned form the trip, my children kept saying that they want to go to FL for the whole winter; while my husband said to me that warm weather is only three hours away. My business coach would say that winter is a choice. This year I’m in agreement with all of them. I love mountains and lakes…..cross-country skiing and snowboarding; but I’m very partial to the ocean and warm weather.

My children want to go to Disney and NYC; while I want to go to Spain. We will be visiting these places in the not-so-distant future. Where are some places that you have gone; and would recommend to others? As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you around the blog!

By the Grace of God (YHWH)

IMG_2938

I often get asked how do I do it (homeschooling) with four kids. It is only by THE grace of YHWH/God. I actually really enjoy it…frustrations and all. Prior to this past week, I was frustrated with my second son because it was taking him longer to read his books. It wasn’t because he was struggling or couldn’t do it; rather, it was because he did NOT want to read those books. I told my husband of my frustration. He responded: “He’s just not interested in those books. Let him read what he wants to read.” I said, he only likes to checkout cookbooks from the library. He encouraged me to just let him read them.  He said that kids are eager learners and demonstrators. They only resist when they are uninterested. So, that Sunday evening as I planned the lessons for the week, I had the idea to make index cards with facts about him and the things that he enjoyed. Last Monday when I handed him his work folder and told him that he would be reading the cards instead of the books, he was so delighted! He read and read those cars all week long….forward and backwards; and created new sentences with them, as well as asked for more cards. Wow! What a difference a little God idea makes.

In addition to the reading switch for my six year old, they made their own little creations out of the air drying molding clay; as well as put together a robotic spider. Boy was that a hit! I’m going back to Walmart and buying the other five robotic creatures that they had. Our school is run somewhat like a Montessori School.

IMG_2921

They are free to select whatever they want to work on or play with; and I just rotate between the four of them to teach or explain new concepts or help when there’s a need for it. I work one-on-one with my two year old with her shapes, colors, numbers and abc…..only because she wants to. I’m sure her older siblings serve as an inspiration for this desire. I’m all about letting little kids learn through play and observation. My favorite part of being my kids’ principle educator is the discussions, dialogues and teachable moments that happen all throughout the day. I just love it!

IMG_2936

There are moments when I’ve had about enough of my little people. That’s when it’s time for quiet time. They go into their rooms and have the option of napping or doing a quiet activity for an hour. There have also been moments when I have left my house as soon as my husband stepped foot in the door. There’s no need for an explanation of any kind. My husband just says: “Mommy needs a moment.” So between God’s grace, my husband’s wisdom and my knowing when to take breaks, this homeschooling thing works well for our family. Also, teaching my children how to pray the word of God, biblical principles for marriage, and finances; as well as who God says that they are, is work that I am truly honored to do.

If you are a full-time homeschooling parent, what do you love about teaching your children? If you are a part-time homeschooling parent (your child(ren)) attends private or public school), what do you love about teaching your children?

As always, have an EXCELLENT week and I’ll see you on the blog!

How do you identify?

Hello All!!!

I started this blog a while ago; but set it aside to focus on my online coaching groups. However, I’m now returning with a renewed focus and message, in this new season of my life. I think that how we see ourselves; and what we believe as our image of ourselves, either prompt us or prevent us from entering into our promised lands….as believers in the Most High God. The biblical story of the Children of Israel prior to entering the promised land is a great lesson about how we see God (Elohim)and how we see ourselves. The twelve spies returned from spying out the promised land. Ten of them brought back an EVIL report; while the other two chose to BELIEVE and SAY what God said ( we are well able). They saw themselves as grasshoppers; and therefore, unable to take possession of their promised land. They wept ALL NIGHT in the wilderness because of how thy saw themselves and God. Wow!!

This tells me that not only did the image that they had of themselves were small; but also of God…..even though He had done some pretty miraculous things for them.  Think about that! They were in the wilderness for 40 years, and their clothes and shoes didn’t wear out. He kept them shaded from the sun by a cloud during the day, so that they wouldn’t get sunburned or have a heat stroke. He quenched their thirst with water from a rock; fed them with manna every day; parted the sea and got rid of their enemies. They witnessed all of this; but still were not able to enter their promised land, because of an evil report and how they saw themselves.

How many times have you believed an evil report OVER what God said in His word? The doctor says: You have such and such.  Instead of saying: With His stripes I am healed, you instead say what the doctor says. If you find yourself in ANY predicament, you MUST renew your mind with what the word of God says about you. There are quite a few scriptures regarding our identity in Christ. Psalm 82:6 says that we are gods (also John 1:34); and children of The Most High. We’re referred to as God’s treasured possession and the apple of God’s eye, multiple times in the scriptures; as well kings, lords, and so much more.

In the days of Adam and Eve, God gave them dominion over the earth. Jesus came so that we could have that same dominion back. In order to function in this dominion, we have to renew our minds (Romans 12:2) to what God says about us. As we saw earlier with the Children of Israel, two reports came…..an evil one and a good one. Which one will you believe? Are you willing to do the work of renewing your mind?

The 8 Dimensions of Wellness – Social

Online pic

Social Wellness refers to our relationships and how we interact with other people. It involves good communication skills, respect for self and others, meaningful relationships and a good support system. According to a study by Umberson & Montez, relationships influence health through a process of reinforcing or inhibiting health-promoting or health-damaging behaviors over time. The bible is full of verses about all relationships. One of which is Proverbs 17:17, which says that a friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity. Genesis 2:18 says the following: The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Our relationships are important, even from God’s perspective.

The bible gives some good standards for our various relationships.

  1. Husband & Wife relationship:Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 13:18 &19
  2. Children & Parents: Ephesians: 6: 1-3
  3. Fathers & Children: Ephesians 6:4
  4. Church family: Colossians 3:12- 14
  5. Friends: Proverbs 27:5 – 6; John 15:12-15
  6. Employer & employee: Colossians 3:23; Deuteronomy 15:10; Deuteronomy 24:14

Oftentimes our relationships are mirrors that reflect the inner-workings or hidden areas of our souls. The soul is like a magnet that draws our circumstances to us. If you find that your relationships have a common theme of joy and endurance, then I’m 99.999% sure that you have mastered 2 Corinthians 10:5; and Philippians 4:8. However, if you’re like many of us who are still learning to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ and thinking on love and positive things; then take this opportunity to make a solid decision to begin healing these toxic thoughts, feelings and emotions that have habitually created less-than-desirable circumstances in your relationships. As children, we learned how to relate to others from our family members; as well as from teachers, friends, and other group members that we were associated with. If what we’ve learned was unhealthy or dysfunctional, we can change it. Healthy relationships are ours to enjoy; as well as a component of overall wellness.
