Declaration & Healthy Living Bit of the Week

Hi Everyone!!

This week’s declaration is based on Romans 8:37-39: I am more than a conqueror through God who loves me. Nothing can separate me from His love.

I’m a bit of a planner; so nearly every Sunday, I write out a meal plan for the week…actually three. My husband likes his chicken, seafood and turkey. My children eat VERY little meat; and I don’t eat any. It’s pretty easy to manage. I can usually make “side” dishes that everyone likes; but no one (except me) likes red quinoa and kale. It is SO very good to me! I mix together sauteed mushrooms and kale, red quinoa and chikpeas. It’s easy to make, takes little time, very filling and it’s delicious (to me)! On these nights, I will usually make chicken, rice, broccoli and yams for my husband; and black beans (which my children love), rice, yams and broccoli for my children. Are there any other moms out there, preparing multiple meals?

As always, have an EXCELLENT rest of your week and I’ll see you around the blog!

Yours in Messiah,

Declaration & Healthy Living for the Week

Declaration: I am valuable. (Luke 12:29)

So I’ve decided to change “Declaration & Exercise of the Week,” to “Declaration & Healthy Living of the Week.” The title is a bit longer; but it will continue to include declarations, as well as, exercise, recipes, humor and other things related to living a healthy lifestyle.

I tore two menisci in college; after tearing my ACL in high school. The doctor told me that I would have arthritis by the time that I was forty. Before I could even think about it, I boldly declared: “No I won’t!” Fast forward all of these years later, I’m beyond 40 and arthritis free. Praise YHWH! What I didn’t know at the time was that I would go on a journey of learning how to eat in a way that was best for my body. I became a vegetarian, progressed to vegan, and finally to raw-food vegan. During all of my pregnancies, I returned to meat (chicken and fish); and continued eating it until even after my last pregnancy. Since dropping the meat from my diet, I am feeling SO much better overall. My next thing that I’m going to tackle is my sugar cravings. It is SO bad for us. I knew it in my head; but I just ignored. I felt a tug in my heart that it was time to get back on track with my eating habits; so I’m yielding to obedience.

My husband and I were talking a couple days ago after he cleaned his home office. To give you a little background. He is an extremely neat and organized person; but for a while, his home office was disorganized. His other offices and car were still in immaculate condition; so I wondered why; but never said anything about it. He told me that the Holy Spirit revealed to him why this one place in his life was out of order. A deal that he was making fell through while he was in the home office; and it brought disordered thinking for him. God told him to clean it up; and so he did.

I got to thinking about the disordered places in my life. I could see that it was my diet. I’ve always been a disciplined person; but after my last baby; I started to feel a bit overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure how homeschool was going to workout. I didn’t know what the new morning and night time routines would look like. I didn’t know what my new sleep routine would be. I just had a lot of unknowns. By YHWH’s grace, we got into a new routine. Homeschool worked itself out. I adjusted to my new sleep routine.  However, when I did meal planning; I only did it for the way that my husband eats; and not the way that I ate. So without a plan, I was just eating what was there. I began noticing that I wasn’t feeling as well as I had always felt. So, it was time to make a change. I’m grateful to the Holy Spirit for loving me so much, to remind me of my value. Yeshua died for me to have excellent health. That’s a hefty price to pay; but it was well worth it to Him.

What’s an area of your life that the Father is nudging you to change or improve?  Below is a picture of one of my favorite simple salads. It’s made up of spinach, cucumber, tomato, avocado and raisins. Have an excellent rest of your week!
